Chickity China the Chinese chicken

I live in Boston (well a suburb really) so naturally I read Boston.com for my news. This mornings front page news story has to do with chicken, "Chicken from China?"

I never buy cooked chickens, unless of course it's off the rotisserie at Whole Foods. But the fact that anyone in the U.S. wants to import cooked chickens from China scares me. Read the article, you'll agree. Many of the agriculture practices are suspect in China; unregulated antibiotics, growth hormones, fertilizers and pesticides are not uncommon whereas in the US they are strictly monitored and/or forbidden.

As a lean, high-in-protein food source, I eat a lot of chicken. First it's cooked chickens, next it's something else. Stay tuned.
